Corentyne fatal crash: “I hope the rest of the children recover safely” – mother of Jodea
Relatives of 16-year-old Jodea Seline from Limlair Village are struggling to cope with her tragic death following a recent accident at Number 63 Village, Corentyne Berbice.
In an interview with reporters, Shemmala Castello explained that she dropped Jodea off at Centre Corentyne Secondary for a sports event in Corriverton on Friday morning.
Shemmala said her 13-year-old daughter, Jennia Seline, who was also injured in the accident, attended the event with her.
Castello stated that after receiving a call about the accident, she rushed to investigate. She said upon arriving at Number 75 Hospital, she learned that Jodea had died.
Castello mentioned that she was told that the driver swerved to avoid colliding with a horse, which he hit, causing the minibus to topple several times.
According to the grieving mother, Jodea sustained severe head injuries.
“She brains was coming through she ears, she noise, and she mouth,” she disclosed.
Castello added, “I hope the rest of the children recover safely, my daughter too.”
Jodea was described as a friendly and loving person.
